I can remember my day.  The manager left about 6 months early, I ran the 127 000 acre Rural Property, put through shearing, crutching and branding all for $19000 per year and love it.  To be told that I was single and would be moved to another Company property as a station hand and my wage reduced to $18000 per year.

I made my mind up immediately to Be your Own Boss and with the saving bought shearing trailer and started my career working for myself.

What no one told me was businesses have life spans.  

• The shearing Industry all but stopped in Queensland, along with my dreams.
• I went fencing and after 1000kms I was over fencing and being away for 11 months at a time
• I designed a fencing post which had 7 years of red tape to learn
• To Be your Own Boss took on many hats, I didn't know how to wear.
• reinventing yourself in business is costly
• many of the businesses ideas were well paid jobs not businesses.

Seven years ago I was thinking to Be your own Boss was a pipe dream and after the GFC and a huge debt struggle, I decided to try something completely different, out of my ordinary and with no comfort zone. 

 I made a decision that this was my last business I would build.  I would be your own boss and go down fighting if I had too.

What an amazing experience.
